Dear Readers,
Since re-taking possession of my classroom, I am so, so, so overwhelmed. I have not been able to get back in to the grove of things. It’s been a month and still don’t have student work upon the board. I’m just not feeling it. How can I get my groove back?

First of all, congratulations on achieving your goal! Don’t stress — enjoy the fruits of your labor! Get your groove back by just concentrating on one small task at a time. Make a checklist, and be happy with every step you make. This is what we do for our students, right? Break things down so that you are able to feel a sense of accomplishment every step of the way! (P.S. My good work boards are very simple. One sign like “proud as a peacock” stapled over a pretty background, and I’m ready to go. Takes only minutes to staple student work on to the bulletin board. Again, keep things simple right now.)
Thank you Mary. I will do just that. As I type this, I am looking around the room at my bare walls and coming up with ideas on how to fill them. You’re right, I will do it little by little.
