I Nailed It!!!

I had a presentation yesterday in my second class @ B.N.U. I nailed it. My assignment was to analyze the California Department of Education website. I had to summarize the website, detail any relevant websites,  and lastly give my opinion of it.

I perused the website for hours, got the necessary information and took it from there. From the information that I gathered, I was able to do a 20-minute presentation without looking at my notes. I didn’t do it by myself though, I had two partners. One made the Powerpoint, the other one made a really nice, double-sided, tri-fold handout.

My professor thought the presentation was very thorough. I also got compliments from others in the class. I did a pretty good job. Another way that I know the presentation was good is because I overheard someone in my class say that we couldn’t have possibly organized that presentation in two weeks. I was pretty happy with it.

In the immortal words of Hannibal from the A-Team, I love it when a plan comes together.

A Punch In The Face…

Yesterday, I received another student. Let’s call him Polo. He came in and showed his true colors within two hours. That’s the best thing that could have happened in my eyes. I mean, I’d much rather someone punch me in the face than stab me in the back. After all when you get punched in the face you can kinda’ see it coming.

However, while getting punched in the face is the lesser of two evils, I’d rather not have either. My new student… Well, he’s a punch in the face. He came right in and showed me his true colors. By recess, he was feuding with Robin & Lito.

Partially because of that fighting, I am down one less student. Lito got an Opportunity Transfer today to his home school. I was sad to see him leave (not really, I did the happy dance after school), but he was causing so much trouble. The main problem is that he & Robin have a feud going between their families. Needless to say, they bring it to school. At times, it seems almost more than I can bear.

Today, I thought my head was going to explode. I was in such distress. Let me tell you why, besides the feud between Robin & Lito, I have 14 students. Two of them are girls. They’re like a dream. They’re so girly. The other twelve (counting Robin & Lito) are boys. Not just any boys either. I have the rambunctious, testosterone-laden, macho, I’m going to punch you in the face, and terrorize you until you break kind-of-boys.

I am unsure of what to do with this kid. One thing about my class, whenever one students leaves, another one comes. Usually that “other” student is a punch in the face and/or a stab in the back in one.

Lito’s gone, and he was my worst student. Will he be replaced with another one? I’m kinda’ scared. What’s going to happen now? Help!!!!!!!!

9/11, Seven Years Later!!!

I can’t believe that it’s been a whole year since I last wrote about 9/11. This day will last in infamy.

It’s seven years later and I still remember the feeling I had like it was yesterday. I just couldn’t believe it. I lay stunned in the bed, watching the news all day. Did terrorists really attack on U.S. soil? Sadly, the answer was a resounding yes!

Yes, they did bomb the Pentagon and The World Trade Center. Thank God that other plane did not succeed in its mission. I shudder to think what would have happened if it would have.

I still relive those awful days sometimes. I just thank God that’s seven years behind us now. Just as I did last year, I would like to send my condolences to all those out there who lost their loved ones during that time.

It’s over and thankfully things are better. Let’s keep it like that!

Until next time people!!!
