Last Week Was A Hard Week…

Just as the title says, last week was a hard week. So many unbelievable things happened that I won’t even post here because I don’t think that most people would believe it. That’s why I took all day to recuperate. I took a couple of naps today.

I am unhappy right now. I can’t see my whole teaching career going like this. Things have to get better. They just have to! Bye for now. I still have some recuperating to do.

  1. Leila,
Don’t despair.Things will get better. Just take one day, one moment at a time. think of what you like to do, that gives you pleasure and try to work it into your claas. Take a break from what you having been doing in class and do something new. Teaching is harder some days than others. 🙂

  2. Thanks for the encouragement. I will take your advice and do what I like by working more reading into the day like I did last year. I know that things have to get better because if not I will break.

  3. Hang in there Leila. I really can say I often feel the same. I’m quickly coming top the conclusion that we have to take care of ourselves first, make sure we are okay and doing what we need to do to make sure that we are getting some satisfaction and enjoyment from our careers. Only then can we ensure that our kids will take something positive away from school. I agree, though. I can’t imagine the rest of my career going like this….

  4. I feel you, I probably could write a best seller about the horrors of public education. We have a new principal, 85% new staff, added grades 5, 6 (these are over/under students), 7, 8, new curriculum, I teach 6 out of 7 classes, I have been “dumped” with the “bad” students, and a whole lot of other “ingredients” that make one big batch of crazy stew. Never in all my days of teaching have I seen it so dysfunctional. I feel bad for the kids. i wish I could take off one day out of the week–it’s draining me that bad.

Hold on, every cloud does have a silver lining, no matter how faint it is!

I’m going to hold on. That is the only thing keeping me going- the fact that I know that things have to get bett
